My path to starting Turquoise Floating Yoga:

I hold a Master of Science in Instruction with a Math Concentration from Drexel University and a Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning from Baker University. Before opening Turquoise Floating Yoga, I spent nine years teaching high school math in the Philadelphia area. During this time I practiced yoga consistently and became passionate about it. My yoga practice helped me improve not only physically, but it also worked wonders for my mindset, positive outlook, and general well-being.  I practiced yoga for fun, to reduce stress, and to connect with my true self.  I had also been surfing for many years. The first time I tried paddleboard yoga, I fell in love with it because it combined my passions.

It slowly became clear to me that I needed to share yoga and wellness with others. I traveled to Ecuador for an immersion 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. Through that amazing experience I became certified as a Yoga Alliance RYT-200. I then participated in a SUP Yoga Teacher Training to become a Certified Standup Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga Instructor.  In September 2019, I opened Turquoise Floating Yoga to share my passion for yoga and to help others transform their mindsets and lives through yoga and paddleboarding the way I did.

Since then, I’ve continued learning and growing through my teaching experience as well as my continued education. I’ve taught over 1,000 hours of yoga sessions and paddling lessons. I’ve fine tuned my training by studying with ULU yoga to complete my 300 hour advanced yoga teacher training and to advance to a Yoga Alliance RYT-500. I trained with the World Paddle Association to become a WPA Certified SUP Instructor, and then the American Canoe Association (ACA) to become a level 2 Standup Paddleboard Instructor & ACA SUP Yoga Endorsed Instructor. In 2021 I became an instructor training with the WPA as well. I also studied to become a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and NASM- Behavior Change Specialist (Coach), and NASM- Certified Nutrition Coach.

The driving force behind my continued education is the desire to learn all I can about yoga, paddling, health, and wellness. The more I know, the better I can help myself and others to live their best lives.

My goal is to help others use yoga and paddling as tools to help transform themselves into the best and happiest version they can physically, spiritually, and emotionally.  I'm working towards this goal by offering group and private yoga and SUP floating yoga classes, paddling lessons, and instructor training for Turquoise Floating Yoga LLC.

I am on a mission to help you paddle better 🏄🏽‍♀️ , flow better 🧘🏼‍♀️, & feel better! ✌🏼💙✨
